Academic Advising at DMU
Course Information
Academic Advising at DMU
Synopsis
This brief course reviews the fundamentals of academic advising at DMU and provides opportunities to practice essential advising skills highlighted in the Faculty Advisor Guide. Advisors are the first point of contact for advisees facing a range of academic and non-academic situations, and as such, routine communication and building relationships with advisees is important. This course will cover the basics, and is by no means comprehensive. We recommend creating a plan for professional development that will extend beyond this course, especially if you are a new advisor.Instructors
